Harry Styles reportedly signed solo record deal

One Direction’s Harry Styles reportedly signed a solo record deal with Columbia Records, the same label that released the band’s music in the US.

According to Billboard, who heard about the deal through unnamed “sources”, there is currently no “timeline” in place for Styles’ debut solo album, which has been rumored since last year. At the same time, Styles is pursuing an acting career with a role opposite Tom Hardy and Oscar winner Mark Rylance in Christopher Nolan’s World War II thriller Dunkirk . Styles’ camp has yet to respond to Billboard’s story about him signing to Columbia Records.

Meanwhile, fellow One Direction member Louis Tomlinson is to serve as a guest judge on the July 12 episode of America’s Got Talent. It is expected that he will assist Simon Cowell during the episode, having previously served as Cowell’s right-hand man during an episode of The X Factor last year.

So far, Zayn Malik (aka ZAYN) is the only member of One Direction to release a solo album, and it’s a huge success. His debut Mind Of Mine dropped in March and debuted at Number One in the UK and US, shortly after his single Pillowtalk had also topped the charts. Also, Niall Horan plans to release solo music with Simon Cowell’s Syco label.

One Direction is now on a hiatus, after last year’s release Made in the A.M. .
