It was about time that R&B/ Soul queen Mary J. Blige to release the studio version for her new single
‘Thick Of It’
which she performed on stage over the weekend in Connecticut. The song’s lyrics channels her real life experience (in this case her divorce from Kendu Isaacs back in July) as she belts out:
“I was there when no one wanted to stay with you, baby. You know I deserve all of this / Yes, I do / So tell me who’s gonna love you like I do?”
Mary also shared that this is a very difficult time in her life, and that the experience feels terrible, but at the same time she finds her strength to go through by any means. She revealed how she came up with the album title Strength of a Woman. “For so many reasons,” she said. “We find that strength in us to not just survive these trials, but to thrive, to live, to get something out of it to not make the same mistakes again.”
