Aerosmith’s Joe Perry in hospital after collapsing and losing consciousness

Aerosmith’s Joe Perry in hospital after collapsing on stage during Hollywood Vampires concert. The veteran rocker/ guitarist has been treated in the emergency room at Coney Island Hospital after he fell ill during a performance with the band and collapsed backstage.

According to fans, Perry looked “noticeably ill” that night. In a video taken at the gig, he was sitting on the drum riser while playing guitar, before walking off the stage. He apparently lost consciousness and collapsed backstage, and EMTs on site revived him. Another concertgoer told FOX411, “[Joe Perry] was sitting by the amp on stage during the first song. I thought that was odd. He walked behind the stage. The show kept going. They didn’t stop.”

The NYPD told ABC News that Perry was listed in stable condition at Coney Island Hospital.

Hollywood Vampires (that also features actor Johnny Depp) continued performing after Perry collapsed backstage. “If you notice one of our brothers is not onstage with us, he was very sick before show,” Alice Cooper, the lead singer of the the Hollywood Vampires, said to address Perry’s absence. He also asked the audience to chant, “Get well, Joe.”

After the concert, Cooper wrote on Twitter to inform fans that Perry “is stable right now, with family & is under the best care.” A representative for the band also told Rolling Stone, “Joe Perry is stable and resting. His brother Vampires and fans wish him a speedy recovery.”
